Our Lead Veterinarian, Dr. Catherine Geyer received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pennsylvania State University in 1996 and achieved a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 at Virginia Tech.
Dr. Geyer grew up on a farm in Southern Maryland, where she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine at a very early age, caring for wildlife and stray animals that turned up on the farm. She received her first horse (Bo) at age 9, and shortly thereafter owned and managed a boarding stable on the family farm all through high school.
Dr. Geyer's commitment to Veterinary Medicine blossomed as she began working with dogs and cats as a Veterinary Assistant at Animal Clinic of La Plata at age 15. Her passion for working with animals ultimately led her to spend time working as an intern at the Cincinnati Zoo and the Baltimore Aquarium.
During her free time, Dr. Geyer enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs, chickens, husband and two kids!
